Annual Ozark Writers Live Showcases Local Wordsmiths and Regional Culture
The Fayetteville Public Library hosts the fifth annual Ozark Writers Live, a showcase of Ozark culture and regional authors and writers on Saturday, September 10, beginning at 9:00 am in the Walker Community Room.
Authors slated to speak include documentary filmmaker Larry Foley, acclaimed author Pat Carr, distinguished poet Jo McDougall, nonfiction writer Kenneth Smith, and Denton Gay. A panel of veteran authors, J. B. Hogan, Velda Brotherton, and Duke Pennell, examine eBooks and online publishing options. Fayetteville High School’s Connotations Rebecca Cox with various student contributors discuss writing and read from their works.
Writing workshops presented by this eclectic array of talent offer participants a chance to learn new techniques budding new talent the chance to discover new techniques, gain inspiration and learn cyber-publishing tips. Sessions will last 45 minutes, including a brief Q&A session.
Clarke Buehling of the Skirtlifters performs toe-tapping tunes straight from the 1800s hills. A display of traditional Ozark quilts will be on display throughout the month of September.
